Andhra Pradesh govt to bring a new law to control the sand prices in the state

Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has issued directives to curb sand mafia and smuggling. CM YS Jagan held a key conference on sand policy at the camp office in Tadepalli. The CM ordered the authorities to control the price of sand. Besides, it is decided to bring in special legislation to regulate the amount of sand.

In the meantime, the CM ordered the officials to prepare the ordinance. CM YS Jagan has given orders to collectors and mining officials to decide the welfare of districts and constituencies.

Jagan also ordered officials to increase surveillance on the border to overcome the pitfalls on the shortage of sand. CM Jagan asked officials to deploy special teams for this purpose. CM Jagan has also sought details from officials on sand availability currently while the officials said that 83 out of 275 reaches are working. The officials have explained that the number of working sand reaches has increased from 61 to 83 in the last two days.

"Supply is expected to increase to one million metric tonnes per week. If the weather cooperates, the situation will return to normal within 15 to 30 days." Officials said
