Amaravati: Minister for education Audimulapu Suresh said admission process for Intermediate first year will be conducted offline as per court directions. He said first year Intermediate classes will begin on January 18 and schedule for examinations will be released soon.

Speaking to media persons at the Secretariat here on Friday, the minister said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch the second phase of Amma Vodi online payments to beneficiaries on January 11.

Regarding Intermediate admissions, the minister said sale of applications for admissions began on January 7 and the last date is January 17. Intermediate examination process for 2020-2021 will continue till May this year and schedule will be planned keeping in view the competitive examination as per CBSE syllabus.

Suresh said the Inter syllabus was reduced by 30 per cent due to Covid-19 and absence of classes. He warned of serious action against those private institutions, if they conduct classes without permission from the government. He said the college managements should collect fee as per the Covid guidelines by giving 30 per cent subsidy. If they failed to do ,so the recognition of the colleges will be cancelled. The minister said students can lodge complaints on excess fee on WhatsApp No: 9391282578 or ourbieap@gmail.com. Based on the complaints received, raids were conducted on private college in Gollapudi village, he added.

The minister said that the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has not increased the examination fee structure due to Covid pandemic and students have to pay Rs 500 for first year and Rs 680 for second year.

Regarding Amma Vodi second phase payments, the minister said that the beneficiaries' lists were displayed at schools, village and ward secretariats.
