Andhra Pradesh: Aditya Nath Das assumes charge as new chief secretary

Amaravati: Aditya Nath Das assumed charge as new chief secretary of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday following the retirement of chief secretary Neelam Sawhney. The new chief secretary assumed charge at Block I of AP Secretariat in the presence of secretaries and other officials.

Speaking on the occasion, the new chief secretary said that his priority is to carry out the vision of state government as well as Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that he would carry out the programmes of the state government in right earnest with the cooperation of all other officials.

The new chief secretary, who served as special chief secretary of Water Resources department earlier, assured that the Polavaram project, the long-pending desire of people of Andhra Pradesh will be completed as per schedule. Aditya Nath Das had to assume charge as chief secretary six months earlier, but his appointment was delayed as the tenure of Chief Secretary Neelam Sawhney was extended twice till December 31.

It may be noted that Neelam Sawhney who retired from service as chief secretary of AP on Thursday was appointed as principal advisor to the Chief Minister.
