AP Disha Police Stations received ISO certification says Home Minister Sucharitha


Tirupati, January 7: AP Minister for Home and Jails Mekapati Sucharitha said that for the last two years YSRCP Government has been implementing many reforms in the police department in the interest of peoples safety and law and order maintenance. She stressed that Women safety was top priority of police duties in the state, in view of that we have set up Disha Police Stations in every District with advanced facilities to investigate the crimes cases faster which were happening against the women.


On Thursday, HM addressing the police officers in AP Police Duty Meet 2020 IGNITE concluding session claimed that CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government has brought many changes in policing across the state in terms launching Police Seva , Disha and other apps to bring the police services in front of peoples door step.


" First Time in India AP Disha Police Stations received ISO certification. Previously Nellore and as of now Tirupati Disha Police station got ISO certificates in effective dealing of women case investigations. And CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had given free hand to police to discharge their duties in a free and transparent manner", She said.


Minster Sucharitha said " previously at least 110 days was taken in cases investigation, now that was reduced to 58 days as well as AP Police introduced O FIR system in cases registration. Victims can give their complaint at any police station in case of emergency. It is one of the major changes in police functioning". Further she added that for effective functioning of Disha Police Stations Government has provided forensic labs and required computers, vehicles etc…


HM called upon the police to adopt the latest technology in cases investigation to solve the cases as fast and do the justice to victims.


Before that, State Principal Secretary for Home Anuradha said that our police set up was 10 years far behind in using science and technology in collecting evidence during the cases investigation and proving the crime when compared to western countries' policing. She urged the Home Minister to support the department in terms of providing new technology and equipment etc. She mentioned that police have been working among the many challenges for safeguarding the peoples lives and properties.


In the 1st AP Police Duty Meet Anantapur Range police stood up in first place and received the overall champ trophy. It may be noted that AP Police Department held various competitions during the duty meet in cases analysis and investigation , forensic science , gathering of clues , Dog Squad Functioning, commando operations and other technical subjects.


In the meeting TTD Chairman YV SubbaReddy and Rajahmundry MP Bharath and other police officials also spoke.
