APCOST holds essay competition for Agency students
Kakinada: AP Council of Science and Technology (APCOST) organised an essay-writing competition to mark the occasion of National Science Day at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), Maredumilli, East Godavari district on Sunday.
Bala Vedika convener Nori Balarama Krishna participated as chief guest on the occasion.
He said that students should get inspired by the scientists. With discipline and dedication, they should contribute for sustainable development of the country.
Krishna encouraged students to pursue their studies not only in examination point of view but also for the betterment of the society and living conditions.
India needs to progress yet in terms of science and technology, he said.
Special Officer M Lakshmi said that National Science Day was celebrated every year to encourage young scientists in India in honour of physicist Sir CV Raman for his legacy who discovered 'Raman Effect' on 28 February 1928.
As many as 226 students participated in the competition. APCOST coordinator Kesari Srinivasa Rao, resource persons B Suryanarayana Dora, MVS Rama Krishna, DV Ramana and others were present.
