Tirupati: The apathy in submitting the daily data of the patients and their diseases by private and government hospitals was deplored by the District Collector Dr Narayan Bharat Guptha.

He held a review meeting at SVIMS hospital auditorium in Tirupati on Friday to take stock of situation pertaining to increasing the financial assistance to patients under Dr YSR Aarogyasri, controlling seasonal diseases and curbing sex discrimination of new-born babies.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that there were 64 government and private network hospitals in the district, but even 30 per cent of the hospitals were not providing the daily data which was against the guidelines issued to them.

He made it clear that unless they provide the information of the various fever cases regularly in the prescribed profarma, it would be difficult to take further steps regarding improving sanitation, lack of nutritious food to pregnant women etc.

An App was being developed by the Trainee Collector Prudhvi Tej and soon after it is introduced, all the hospitals should make arrangements to enter the data without fail, the Collector said.

The private network hospital doctors have said that people have been using the medicines buying from medical shops without any consultation of the doctor or prescription. They were undergoing tests on their own at labs having no permission and rushing to the hospitals only when the situation went out of control.

DM&HO Dr M Penchalaiah, DCHS Dr P Saralamma, Addl DM&HO Dr C Aruna Sulochana Devi and others were present.
