Online services will bring down corruption: Collector Dr N Bharat Guptha
Tirupati: District Collector Dr N Bharat Guptha stressed on the need to bring down corruption in society and to increase the satisfaction levels of people. The state government introduced online services through village secretariats with the aim to bring down corruption, he said.
Speaking at a meeting organised on taking steps to control graft at RDO office in Tirupati on Sunday which was attended by IIM Ahmedabad Professor Amrithavalli, he said that corruption can be prevented by using online services.
Without paying bribes, people can get various services through village secretariat system introduced by the government, he said. Joint Collector D Markandeyulu opined that digitalisation of revenue records has to be done completely. The land disputes at many places have been paving for corruption.
Tirupati Municipal Corporation Commissioner PS Girisha stated that due to the corrupt attitude of some employees, the entire system is getting bad name. Chittoor Municipal Commissioner Ch Obulesu and District Registrar Gangireddy said that corruption levels have come down significantly by using online system for approval of plans and for registrations in their departments.
Prof Amrithavalli expressed happiness as the political interventions were not there as expected in the State and the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wants transparency in the governance without corruption. RDO V Kanaka Narasa Reddy, Tirupati Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Haritha and other officials were also present.
