Cabinet meet scheduled today, likely to approve proposals on new laws

Amaravati: AP cabinet scheduled to meet at 11.30 today, at the secretariat, Velagapudi village in Guntur.

It is likely to approve new legislation on sand policy with heavy fines and stringent legal action on sand illegal excavation, transportation. Government to introduce Ordinance by amending the AP minor mineral Act.

Cabinet also to discuss on the sand week to be celebrated between November 14 to 21.

It will ratify the proposal for introduction of English medium in the school education from the first standard to the sixth standard.

Sources said that the cabinet likely to approve a proposal to establish a mechanism to control pollution on the state.

In the towns and cities, the unauthorised layouts need to be regulated. The officials are reportedly bringing a new proposal on it for the cabinet meeting.

After establishing the village and ward secretariat system, the state government is contemplating to set up village courts. As part of it, the cabinet of likely to take a key decision today.

Cabinet will also ratify the withdrawal of Amaravati project with the Singapore government.
