Call to use jute bags instead of plastic bags

Guntur: Lok Adalat District Judge Tejovathi stressed on need to protect the environment from ecological disasters and urged the people to use jute bags instead of plastic carry bags. She explained the necessity to use jute bags to the people.

She also distributed jute bags at a programme held under the aegis of Guntur Municipal Corporation and Wholesale Dealers Association here on Thursday. Speaking on this occasion, she explained how plastic carry bags polluting the environment and benefits of using jute bags.

Municipal Corporation Public Health Officer Dr T Sobaha Rani warned that the GMC will take stern action, if anybody sells plastic carry bags and use plastic carry bags in Guntur city. Sanitary supervisor Ram Babu and GMC officials were present on the occasion.
