Cancer Awareness: Women take out car rally in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: MLA Malladi Vishnuvardhan said that women should have awareness on 'Breast cancer' and should take utmost care about their health. Roots Health Foundation and Rotary Club Midtown jointly organised a cancer awareness Women Car Rally which was flagged off by Vishnu at Gantasala Music College on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA lauded the Roots Health Foundation for organising an awareness rally on Breast Cancer and said that women are facing many problems due to Breast Cancer and the cases are on the rise these days. If detected in the early stage, it can be cured completely, he added.
Noted Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon Dr Priyanka said that one in every 27 women suffer from Breast Cancer in the country which is a concern these days. Healthy diet and good lifestyle will keep away from such problems, she said and added that women after 40 years should undergo Mammogram test once in a year. Women should test their breast every day, if they find any difference they should immediately consult the doctor, she added.
Roots Health Foundation chairman Dr PVS Vijayabhaskar said that they have been organising awareness camps on Breast Cancer since 2007 and as part of Breast Cancer awareness month they have been organising various programmes.
