Collector announces launch of YSR Kishori Vikas in Ongole
Ongole: Prakasam District Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara launched the YSR Kishori Vikas programme at RIMS Medical College here on Friday. He announced that the government is taking all steps for the welfare of girls in the state.
Speaking at the programme, the Collector said that the girls undergo a lot of changes in their bodies in the adolescent age and suffer from anemia along with psychological changes. He suggested the girls take nutritious food while in the teenage to withstand the changes and parents should provide counseling support to the children undergoing emotional disorder.
He said that adolescent girls should take care of while their periods and maintain hygiene. He advised the girls to fight against child marriages and improve knowledge on laws supporting them.
He announced that the government is providing a two-day training program for 2225 girls in the district to enhance skills for the modern-day. He made the school students take a pledge on girl child education, as part of the programme.
The DMHO Dr B Vinod Kumar, additional SP B Sarath Babu, ICDS PD Visalakshmi, women commission member S Ramadevi, CWC chairman Bharathi, DTWO Lalitha Bai, RIMS superintendent Sriramulu, ANU special officer Prof Somasekhar and others also participated in the programme.
