Collector orders tahsildars, VROs to do their duty

Ongole: Prakasam District Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara said that if the tahsildars and VROs do their duty at ground level, there will not be many complaints from the public at the weekly grievance cell Spandana on every Monday.

Speaking at the Kandukur division revenue officials review meeting on Thursday, the collector said that there is strong criticism from the public that the revenue department is not performing up to the expectation.

He said that the tahsildars and VROs are not responding to the pleas of the public at the ground level and that is the reason they are turning up at Spandana programme. He ordered them to put the focus on the redressal of urges received through the Mee Seva immediately and bring good name to the department.

He advised them to utilise the latest available technology in speedily solving the applications. He advised the tahsildars to not depend on the data entry operators and supervise the records entering work.

He warned them to not make unnecessary changes in adangals and if any instances are found to be made for profit of others, he said that the legal action will be initiated against the officers. He warned them to not let the tanks and ponds encroached in the villages.

The Kandukur RDO KS Ramarao, DRDA PD Narasimhulu, tahsildars, deputy tahsildars and VROs from the Kandukur revenue division participated in the meeting.
