Compensation disbursed to kin of deceased killed in Visakhapatnam gas leak incident

Gas leak victims received cheques from Tourism Minister M. Srinivasa Rao, Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Krishna Das, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Botcha Satyanarayana and the district in-charge Minister K. Kannababu

A part of the compensation was disbursed on Monday to the kin of those who were killed in the tragic gas leak incident at RR Venkatapuram village in Visakhapatnam.

Some of the gas leak victims received cheques from Tourism Minister M. Srinivasa Rao, Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Krishna Das, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Botcha Satyanarayana and the district in-charge Minister K. Kannababu.

The Ministers were accompanied by Visakhapatnam MP MVV Satyanarayana and District Collector V. Vinay Chand, among others. The Ministers visited KGH to give away a few cheques of Rs.1 crore to the eligible family members.

Meanwhile, the KGH officials were taking measures to discharge the patients from hospital who are pronounced safe. The massive gas leak incident has took 12 lives and hundreds were injured in accident. Soon after the accident, chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced the compensation of one crore rupee for the deceased, which was disbursed on Monday.
