Cops to plant & protect 1 lakh saplings: SP Navdeep Singh Grewal

Eluru: Superintendent of Police Navdeep Singh Grewal has called upon the police staff to plant and protect one lakh saplings as part of Vanam-manam programme. He planted a sapling to begin the programme at Police Training Centre in Lakshmipuram of Pedavegi mandal on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, the SP said it is the responsibility of the police staff to ensure proper growth of saplings planted on the premises of police stations. Tree plantation is the best way to protect our environment, he said.

Faculty and students of Jawahar Navodaya School participated in the programme. The SP interacted with the students and wished them to pursue higher studies like IIT to achieve greater positions in life. The SP inspected e-Learning Lab at the centre and directed the officials to impart modern training with regard to cyber crimes. Additional SP K Eswara Rao and other officials were present.
