Dengue awareness rally taken out in Kakinada

Kakinada: The students of Durga Prasad School took out a rally to create awareness on dengue and the precautionary measures to control mosquito menace on Saturday.

Kakinada city Municipal Health officer Dr Prashanth, 23rd division corporator M Sridevidurga Rao sanitary inspector YLR Reddy, ASO Rajumani, school teachers and others participated in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, health officer Prashanth appreciated the management of Durga Prasad School for taking the initiative to organise the programme and said people should keep their surroundings clean to control the dreadful dengue.

He said that waste water logged is the breeding ground for mosquitoes and people should take utmost care to prevent it. He also said that household garbage should be cleaned regularly and keep the house, toilets and premises clean.

He said that the students should create awareness among their parents and neighbours on the outbreak of viral fevers and precautions to be taken to prevent them. About 500 students participated in the rally raising slogans and carrying placards and distributing pamphlets.
