Don't post hatred content on social media: SP

Ongole: Prakasam SP Siddharth Kaushal announced that they are implementing Section 30 of Police Act in the district which bars assembly of people, processions, celebrations, rallies, protests and any public speeches instigating a group, religion or a section of people.

In a statement, he said the police have increased surveillance and stringent action will be taken on the violators. He also said the Prakasam district IT Core Team has procured a special software to track the inflammatory, derogatory, hatred posts and pics being shared on social media including Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and YouTube.

He warned the public not to be excited about the verdict of the Supreme Court on Ayodhya and share unnecessary comments and posts on social media that could land them in trouble.

The SP said that they have set up 207 pickets, deployed 88 mobile parties and 89 peace committees in the sensitive areas to keep law and order in the district. He said that about 2,000 personnel and officers from the law and order, home guards, 3 platoons of APSP, marine force, DTC force and other wings were stationed at various places in the district.

He said that they have put a tight vigil with 10 members on social media and with another 10 members on the cable and satellite TV news channels to avoid any unforeseen instances occurring in the district.
