Dwajarohanam performed with fervour at Appalayagunta

Tirupati: The unique event of Dwajarohanam which signalled the beginning of annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Appalayagunta was grandly performed on Thursday morning in karkataka lagnam along with Govinda chanting by devotees. Earlier during the day, a spate of traditional rituals was performed by Kankana Bhattar Sri Surya Kumar Acharyulu after the Thiruchi Utsava.

Speaking on the occasion, the TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal said TTD has made elaborate arrangements like a flower and electrical decorations and flexis on the significance of the local temple. The HDPP will conduct Bhakti sangeet, bhajans, kolatas and cultural teams to enthral devotees during vahanasevas.

The EO appealed to devotees to participate in the Brahmotsavams of the TTD local temple in a big way. The TTD Joint Executive Officer B Lakshmikantham and his wife presented silk saris studded with pearls and blouse laced with precious stones and three golden nose rings to the temple on the occasion. Later, Snapana Thirumanjanam was performed for utsava idols followed by unjal seva.

TTD had made colourful electrical and flower decorations besides arranging drinking water, buttermilk, anna prasadam, shamianas, first-aid centres, Ayurveda hospital, publication stalls at the Brahmotsavams. TTD local temples Deputy EO Jhansi Rani, VGO Ashok Kumar Goud, DE Chandrasekhar, EE Satyanarayana, AEO Subramanyam, Superintendent Gopalakrishna and other officials were present.
