Grandeur marks Dwajarohanam at Tiruchanur temple

Tirupati: The nine-day Karthika Brahmotsavams of Goddess  Padmavati, Sarva Swatantra Veera Lakshmi, at Tiruchanur temple begins on a grand note with Dwajarohanam on Tuesday. The priests amidst chanting of Vedic mantras hoisted Gajapatam celestial flag at the auspicious Vrischika Lagnam at 8.30 a.m.

under the supervision of TTD Pancha Rathra agama advisor and Kankana Bhattar Srinivasacharyulu, to mark the beginning of the religious festival of the shrine. Earlier, the pre-dawn rituals like Suprabatha seva, awakening the Goddess, was conducted and special poojas were performed to the holy flag with the image of Gaja - the divine elephant at the Yagashala, before it was unfurled atop the Dwajasthambham.  Reciting of Gaja Dhyana sloka, Gaja Mangalastakam and Garuda Gadyam followed the Dwajarohanam. 

Invite for all Gods: As part of ritual, Viswaksena Aradhana, Punyahavachanams were performed. Nine kalashas were filled with holy water to welcome Gods by chanting of four Vedas.

Raksha Bandhan was tied by the priests to Dwajasthambha to ensure smooth conduct of the celestial event. A unique Raga- tala- nivedana was performed to appease the deities, giving a festive touch to the inaugural of  Brahmotsavams.

Later, the TTD EO Anil kumar Singhal said all arrangements were made to facilitate the devotees with drinking water, toilets, Anna Prasadam and parking facilities. Efforts were made to provide Mula murti darshan to devotees along with Vahana Sevas on the same day.
