Dy CM K Narayana Swamy offers silk clothes on behalf of govt to deity in Tirupati
Tirupati: On behalf of the State government, silk vastrams to Ammavaru have been presented by Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy on the occasion of Panchami Theertham, on Sunday.
Speaking on this occasion, Narayana Swamy said, it's a great privilege for him to take part in the Panchami Theertham fete and present silk vastrams to the presiding deity on behalf of the State government. While TTD Chairman Y V Subba Reddy said a Rs 7-lakh worth 113 gram weighing uncut diamond necklace has been presented to Ammavaru on the occasion of Panchami theertham by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
TUDA chief and government whip C Bhaskar Reddy pointed out that when Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was the Chief Minister, he had introduced presenting silk clothes on behalf of State government on the day of Dhwajarohanam instead of Garuda Seva during Srivari Brahmotsavams at Tirumala for the convenience of pilgrims.
"Now his son Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, in the capacity of Chief Minister of AP has introduced the practice of gifting silk vastrams to Ammavaru on behalf of the State government on the auspicious day of Panchami Theertham during Brahmotsavams henceforth every year," he added.
