Encourage sportive spirit among children: Deputy CM P Pushpa Srivani
Bhadragiri (Vizianagaram): Deputy Chief Minister P Pushpa Srivani on Thursday kick started the Tribal Welfare Residential School Zonal Sports Meet at Bhadragiri in Vizianagaram district.
Addressing the students on the occasion, Srivani assured the players that the government was giving top priority to tribal welfare and they would be encouraged in all aspects.
"Our government is encouraging sports persons and will spend enough money if the player wants to participate in international events," she said.She stated the sports and games will improve mental and physical fitness and appealed to students to spend enough time in playground.
Observing that players should maintain sportive spirit, she said the participants should take both win and loss in game equally. She called upon the students to participate actively in games and sports.
"After 30 years of gap, we are conducting zonal sports meet in our area," she said and added over 1,650 students from 53 Ashram Schools have been participating in the sports meet held for three days. Deputy secretary of Gurukulams K Lakshamana Rao and Principal RSVG Krishna Rao participated in the programme. Players from Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram are participating in the sports meet.
