The event was held as part of week-long 'Human Cares' programme to mark the 199thbirth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, who was the founder of modern nursing. Explaining the event, founder-president of Global AID, Sai Padma said, "The objective is to create awareness among people on the importance and role of nurses in the society. Every hospital requires nurses to treat patients with love and care. The programme aims to honour their services."
Apart from the Fashion Show, the organisation also give awards to mothers of autistic children who take care of their wards beyond their means and capacity. Speaking about her role, K Swathi, a mother of Shashank Yadav said, "My child is hyper-active. If I am not around, he throws away everything within his reach.
I keep him at home because I am worried to send him out as other children bully him. I do what I can do because every child needs mother's support." Swathi was one among a few mothers who walked away with the awards. The Forum gave them an avenue to share their challenges faced on a day-to-day basis.
