Former minister Achchennaidu responds to allegations on ESI scam, says he followed the PM Modi's directives
Former minister and TDP senior leader Achchennaidu responded to the ESI scandal came into light on Friday. He asserted that they acted according to the directives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Telangana government also acted in the same way as the Andhra Pradesh government has done when it comes to delivering orders for TeleHealth services," Achchennaidu said.
Achchennaidu made it clear that he had no intention to resort to corruption and advised the government to probe the matter. Earlier, Vigilance and Enforcement exposed an ESI scam in Andhra Pradesh.
In the report released by Vigilance department, TDP senior leader and former minister Achchennaidu's name surfaced in the scandal for giving tenders to the companies through the nomination process. The report came to light that Achchennaidu had put pressure on the issuance of orders in the name of TeleHealth Services.
Earlier, the vigilance department has found the irregularities in the procurement of medicines for the ESI hospital. They found that the tenders were issued at 136 per cent more than the actual cost of the drugs and medicines.
