Free cancer screening camp organised by BIACH&RI

Vijayawada: Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute organised free cancer screening camp at its Clinic and Information Centre located at Kodandarami Reddy Street, Governorpet here on Sunday.

The camp was inaugurated by G Ravi Kumar, COO, BIACH &RI. About 200 patients attended the screening camp and about 70 patients were sent for ultrasound test on suspicion after the screening.

In all 45 Mammogram tests were conducted for women, 15 X-rays were taken and 55 Pap smear tests were conducted for women at the venue. All the suspected cases were referred for further examination to Hyderabad.

The screening camp was led by Dr Sadashiva Reddy, camp coordinator, along with the team of doctors consisting of Sivarama Krishniah, medical oncologist, Dr Ravi Shankar, Dr Karuna Bhavani and Dr Maitri.
