135 benefit from free cancer screening camp in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACHRI) organised a Free Cancer Screening Camp here on Sunday. The camp was organised at its Clinic and Information Center. 

As many as 135 patients were screened which includes 60 male and 75 women patients.  

A total of 43 ultrasound tests were conducted, 7 X-Rays were taken, 32 Mammograms and 43 papsmear tests were conducted exclusively for women.

Out of 135 cases screened 11 cases were suspected to be inflicted with cancer. 

Based upon initial evaluation, those found suspect for the disease were sent for further evaluation at Hyderabad, according to Dr V Sudhakar Kumar, Senior Consultant-Radiation Therapy of  BIACHRI.

Dr Sravana Kumari, Gynaecologist, Dr Nemada Ravi Prasad, Dr Sulochana Rani, Dr Y Suhas Rao, Radiologist participated in the camp along with other paramedical, technical and nursing staff and conducted consultation along with requisite tests.  

The camp was coordinated by Dr N Sadasiva Reddy, Camp Coordinator, BIACHRI along with other supporting staff.
