Gautam Honda Showroom Owned By Kodela Sivaram Fined Rs 1 Crore For Evading Taxes
Transport department officials have imposed hefty fines on the Gautam Honda showroom run by Kodela Sivaram, son of former speaker and late leader Kodela Sivaprasad Rao. Authorities have found that about 40,000 two-wheeler vehicles have been evaded by taxes, in violation of regulations. Investigators have imposed hefty fines on the Gautam Honda showroom and ordered the total payment of crores of rupees. Officials say the two-wheeler sales violated RTA rules.
Meanwhile, there have been complaints that the new bikes are being delivered at the Gautam Hero Honda showroom without a Temporary Registration Permit. In the past, however, the authorities have been overlooked. The government has shifted its focus on pending complaints.
The showroom has been heavily manipulated. The investigation found that 1,025 bikes were sold in 2018 alone without the TRR. Charge from customers at an average rate of Rs 8,000 per bike under fees such as TR, Life Tax and Permanent Registration.
As a result, a showcase has been filed under Section 42 of the Central Motor Vehicle Act 1989. To this extent, the police have registered Kodela Sivaram under sections 406, 409, 420, 468 and 471 of the IPC.
