Update: 2019-10-18 09:50 IST

Land scandals have been reported in Visakhapatnam and adjoining zones and areas under the previous TDP governments. However, the YCRCPP government decided to end it. As part of this, a special investigation team (SIT) was set up, led by retired senior IAS officer Dr Vijay Kumar.

The government has appointed retired IAS officer YV Anuradha, a retired district and sessions judge T. Bhaskara Rao as its members. The SIT team will be investigating for three months.

The Chief Secretary of the government, LV Subramanyam, released the GO on Thursday night.

The group has the authority to examine public and private land records and Webland accounts. When asked, the relevant documents should be kept before them. The team receives advice and suggestions from the public as well. A full investigation into the alleged tampering of records will be conducted. They also have the authority to look at land records given to former soldiers and political victims.
