Vijayawada: Former MLC and Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham president Jalli Wilson demanded that the government allot house sites, agricultural land and welfare schemes to the poor eligible beneficiaries in rural areas of the state.

BKMU state general secretary A Shekar, state vice-president B Venkateswara Rao, C Venkateswara Rao, K Eswara Rao and others were present on the occasion at Dasari Bhavan on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Wilson said that a 50,000 post card collection programme will begin on August 15 (Independence Day) from across the state. He said a letter was penned to Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy to allot house sites, agricultural land for cultivation and provide welfare schemes to the poor eligible beneficiaries in rural areas across the state.

He recalled that former CM Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy had favoured Koneru Ranga Rao committee recommendations in allocating land sites and agricultural land and welfare schemes to the poor rural people.

The previous TDP government had neglected the rural poor and did not show concern towards them in allotting house sites and agricultural land. He demanded that the CM look into the matter and do justice to the poor rural people by allocating welfare schemes and other benefits to them.
