Govt appoints Journalist Srinath Devireddy as Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Press Academy
Senior Journalist Srinath Devireddy has been appointed as chairman of Andhra Pradesh Press Academy. State information and the broadcasting department have approved his appointment. The government issued orders on Friday. Srinath, who has forty years of experience in the journalism profession, is a native of Kovadrangutpalli village of Simhadripuram Mandal, Kadapa district. He first started his reign through Andhra Prabha.
When he worked at the Andhra Prabha Desk in Kadapa district, he was particularly impressed by the columns titled 'Seven Roads Junction' on the political, economic and social aspects of Rayalaseema's backwardness. In the 1990s he worked for BBC Radio for almost five years. He also worked as president of the Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists Association (APUWJ) as the Kadapa District Later, worked as the Secretary of State of APUWJ. He is also close to the late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
