Govt committed to welfare of the disabled, says District Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara

Ongole: Prakasam District Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara announced that the State government was implementing various programs for the welfare of disabled persons.

He inaugurated the SADAREM camp in the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Ongole, as part of the programs observing the International Day of People with Disability, on Tuesday.

The collector announced that a special centre was arranged to address the issues being faced by disabled persons while receiving disability certificates.

He said that the SADAREM camp is opened with a motto to provide all welfare schemes to the disabled persons. He said that the government is providing Rs 3000 as YSR Pension Kanuka every month to the disabled persons and advised them to make use of the SADAREM camp in RIMS.

In another program, the district child welfare committee member Shaik Basheer said that everyone should cooperate for the development, protection and provision of health services to specially-abled persons. He participated in the program observing the International Day of People with Disability organised by the HELP- Girls Advocacy Alliance and Uma Manovikasa Kendram in Ongole.

Basheer said that people with disabilities also, have equal rights along with others and it is the responsibility of all to see their rights are respected and their special needs are met with due love and care.
