Amaravathi: Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu said that state government will give Rs 25,000 as a reward to Kachuluru villagers who have bravely tried to rescue the victims of a boat accident in river Godavari, addressing at a press meet at the secretariat on Friday.

"The search is still going on for the Godavari boat. Around 26 people have been rescued by Kachuluru villagers by risking their life. The Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy appreciated their bravery and directed the district collector to collect their details. The government will give Rs. 25,000 as a reward to those people," said Kannababu.

If anyone is ready to rescue the boat, the government is ready to co-operate with them after discussing with experts, he said.

"Government is trying its best to rescue the boat. Some people are trying to politicise this incident. Even leaders like TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is also talking inappropriately," said Kannababu.

Government is trying to use all the possible technical tools to fix the issue.

A GO issued in 2018 about boat accident says only about the respective department's work but did not say about co-ordination among the departments. Despite all these hurdles and unfavourable climatic conditions, the government is at its best to rescue the boat, he claimed.

In this press conference, YSRCP MLA Dhanalakshmi from Rampachodavaram and others participated.
