He is Chandrababu appointed officer: CM Jagan Reddy fumes at SEC Ramesh Kumar
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who held a press conference on Sunday has come furious at state election commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. "It was inappropriate to postpone the election by the Election Commissioner in the name of discretionary authority; Chandrababu Naidu has appointed Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as an election official hence he has resorted to cheap tricks such as postponing elections, " CM YS Jagan Reddy asserted.
Speaking about untoward incidents that happened last week, YS Jagan said that there are only 40 such instances reported and appreciated the police for maintaining law and order. CM Jagan said he had lodged a complaint with Governor and sought the intervention in the matter.
Earlier, State Election commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has announced the postponement of local body elections for six weeks. He said that the election process held so far would have prevailed while the remaining part would be held after announcing a new schedule.
Jagan along with Advocate General met with the governor. The meeting which lasted for about an hour seems to have discussed the budget sessions and postponement of elections.
