HELP, GAA hold Child Rights Awareness rally in Ongole
Ongole: The HELP and Girls Advocacy Alliance (GAA) organised a child rights awareness rally in association with the children from Sriram Concept School as part of the observation of Child Rights Week in Ongole on Friday.
The volunteers and children from the HELP, Girls Advocacy Alliance and Sriram Concepts School in Srinagar Colony explained the importance of the child rights to the onlookers by means of slogans and placards in the rally.
Later they organized an awareness session on the rights of children for the students at the school. The Girls Advocacy Alliance youth advocate K Mahima said that the children are still deprived of the rights they should enjoy, though the International Child Rights Declaration is signed about 30 years now.
The school correspondent V Sriramulu Reddy motivated the students to set an aim for life and work to achieve it with dedication and honesty. He advised the children to utilize their rights that the constitution gifted them in achieving their goals and said that the government, parents, voluntary organizations and everyone in the society should work to protect the rights of the children.
The GAA coordinator N Srinivasa Murthy, M Murali Krishna, Ch Manemma, school principal V Sujatha, G Ellaiah and the students and staff also participated in the programme.
