Home Guards integral part of police force: SP Siddharth Kaushal
Ongole: Prakasam District SP Siddharth Kaushal announced that the home guards are an important organ of the police force and they are working hard equally with the police constables in various sections.
The SP participated in the 57th Rising Day of Home Guards celebrations and received guard of honour in the parade. Speaking at the program, the Superintendent of Police said that the government has raised the salaries of the home guards from Rs 18,000 to Rs 21,300 after considering that they are working hard in the law and order, crime control, traffic and other sections.
He said that the government has also sanctioned three paid leaves in a month for all home guards while the women can also utilize three months of maternity leave.
He appreciated that the home guards in the district are working very well in the investigation, eCops, drivers in the MT section and others including the parade. He wished them to keep the spirit and bring fame to the department.
He presented mementoes to parade commander Golagani Hanumantha Rao and two home guards from each of the five units in the district. The home guards thanked the SP for his initiation in establishing the Home Guards Credit Cooperative Society, a unique and first of its kind for home guards in the country, and discussing with the government to provide health cards and housing plots.
The AR DSP A Raghavendra Rao, RIs M Manohar, Ch Subbarao, home guards officials and staff also participated in the program.
