Improve sanitation to curb diseases: District Collector
Kakinada: District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy has directed the officials to improve the sanitary conditions to curb diseases like malaria and dengue. He reviewed sanitation works that were in progress in Kakinada and Peddapuram at a meeting held at the Spandana Grievance hall here on Thursday.
The District Collector said that as part of sanitation improvement in urban and rural areas, special emphasis should be given to sanitation. Organic fertilizers should be made from available Solid Waste Management units. Cleanliness is next to godliness, he added.
He said the services of village secretaries should be utilized properly in the implementation of various welfare schemes for the poor. All basic facilities should be provided at the village secretariats. He asked the officials concerned to prepare a detailed project report for the financial assistance provided by the central government to the beneficiaries of the housing scheme.
