ISRO plans space shuttle in space: Dr K Sivan

Nellore: ISRO Chairman DR K Sivan said there would be space shuttle in the space in near future similar to the one being run by the NASA and they had conducted RLV-TD exper-iment two years ago. He also said Aditya-1 mission has now been revised to Aditya-L1 mis-sion and will be inserted in a halo orbit around the L1, which is 1.5 million km from the Earth.

He addressed at an interaction session on Friday with 108 young scientists across the country during Yuvika 2019 as part of Jai Vigyan-Jai Anusandhan programme and said still there is no clarity on possibilities for existing in space till now and said that budding scientists have to explore such issues in future after becoming scientists.

ISRO Chief said quality and transparency are the key issues of success of the ISRO and ap-pealed to the young scientists to be inquisitive minded for learning things and asked them to prefer experiment based learning if they want to become scientists. He also said they were searching for many ways to clear space debris permanently. He said 'Gaganyaan' continues to traverse for one week close to earth in a distance of 450 km.

Group Director P Gopi Krishna said that they had planned to aware young scientists on space programmes with a motif 'Catch Them Young'. They would be given orientation on various programmes of the ISRO with an aim to making them resourced on the related experiments.

Director of SHAR Dr S Pandyan, Capacity Building Chief Dr P Venkata Krishnan, Director of URSC Dr TK Alex also present. DR Sivan presented gold medals to the 108 young scientists participated in the session.
