Job demand for logistics sector on the rise

Vijayawada: With the introduction of new course BBA Logistics, the students can study and earn simultaneously, said Dr K Karunakar Babu, programme coordinator, Andhra Loyola College, here on Friday.

Speaking to The Hans India, Karunakar Babu said that with the growing demand in the logistics sector and with the increase of infrastructure and the implementation of GST, the National Skill Development Corporation along with the Central government had designed this three-year BBA Logistics course. He said that the government of India has given permission to 21 colleges across the country and Andhra Loyola College (ALC) is one among them.

He said that the three years course was designed into six semesters. The 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters will be held on the college premises and the other semesters (2, 4 and 6) will be held at various companies as apprentice and the students would be given Rs 6,000 as apprentice stipend. He further said that after completion of the course, job facility will be provided to the students.

He said as many as 126 companies came forward to provide jobs to the students who complete the three-year BBA Logistics course as there is acute shortage of skilled professionals. He said that this is a good opportunity for the students to join a graduation course which will provide stipend and a job after their graduation, he added.
