Jyotirao Phule, a torchbearer to society, says District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy

Kakinada: Collector D Muralidhar Reddy has said that Jyotirao Phule was a torchbearer to society and great inspiration to all. Garlanding his statue along with Mayor Sunkara Pavani in connection with his 129th death anniversary at the government general hospital here on Thursday, he said Phule worked for the welfare of BCs until his last breath and he worked for the downtrodden.

He strived for the development of education for better living of people and put his endeavour in this regard and succeeded. Everyone in society should follow his footprints who is also a man of ethics and values, he averred.
