Kakinada: District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy to impose time restrictions on shops, religious places

Kakinada: In view of steep increase in number of Covid -19 cases in East Godavari district, District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy has decided to impose restrictions under the provisions of Disaster Management Act.

The restrictions will come into force from Thursday The restrictions are intended to stem the spread of the infections in the district.

He said that all religious places, restaurants, street vendors , shopping malls, liquor shops will be allowed to remain open only from 6 am to 10 am. All essential and medical services and all public, private offices, banks, financial institutions etc will function as usual.

School, colleges, educational, training and coaching institutions etc will remain closed. All functions and other events are allowed with limited members, he said.

He said everybody should practide social distance notms and advised the people to wash their hands with sanitiser. Fine of. Rs 100 will be imposed on those not wearing masks in public places.

The Covid-19 is spreading to the rural areas of East Godavari district. On Tuesday 106 positive cases were reported in the district. According to the health bulletin, the number of patients sent to home isolation went up to 120 in the district. A total of 12 containment zones were declared.
