Kakinada: Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao lays stone for new fisheries building
Kakinada: Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and District In-charge Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao along with District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy laid foundation stone for the construction of new office of the Joint Director of Fisheries here on Friday.
The Minister said that an estimated amount of Rs 1.9 crore will be spent for the construction of office building. He said that recognizing the significant contribution of the fishing community to society, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was giving priority to works relating to them. Recently he also extended financial assistance to the fishermen. He said that through Mastyakara Bharosa deserving fishermen were given Rs 10,000 individually. He said that besides financial assistance they were also given subsidy for diesel expenses for their hunting boats. MLA D Chandrashekhar Reddy and other district officials were present.
