Kartika Pournami celebrated with holy dips in sea and pooja
Ongole: The people of Prakasam district celebrated the Kartika Pournami in gaiety with holy dips in the sea and offering special pooja to the handmade sand Sivalingas on the beach and other temples in the district.
Thousands of devotees in the district reached the Kothapatnam, Chirala, Motupalli and Chinaganjam beaches in the early morning of Tuesday to take the holy dips in the Bay of Bengal. The devotees then thronged to the local temples and offered pooja to the deities and self-made sand Sivalingas on the beaches.
The Singarakonda Prasannanjaneya Swamy temple, Addanki Dhanvantari Dattapaduka Kshetram, Racharla Siddhi Bhairveswara Swamy temple, Tripuranthakam Tripuranthakeswara temple, Kasivisweswara Swamy and Pasupathiswara temples in Ongole, Jammulapalem 1001 Sivalinga temple, Bhairavakona temple, Sivalayams at Kandukur, Mundlamur and other places also made arrangements for the special pooja and thousands of devotees participated in them.
