Hanamkonda: Fervour marks Kartika fete

Devotees lighting diyas on the premises of 1000 Pillars temple in Hanamkonda on Monday

Hanamkonda: Deepotsavams marked the celebration of Kartika Pournami on Monday. Devotees flocked Shaivite temples in Warangal and offered prayers. Kaleshwara Mukteshwara Swamy temple in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district had witnessed heavy rush of devotees. They took holy bath in River Godavari and performed special prayers and released diyas into the river.

Ganapeshwaralayam also known as Kota Gullu in Ghanpur was decorated with hundreds of diyas. People waited in serpentine queues at 1000 pillar temple in Hanamkonda since the early morning. Devotees, especially women performed special prayers on the day.

Deepotsavams were conducted at thousand pillar temple, Sringeri matam, Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy temple, Datta Kshetram, Vasavi Math temple and others.

Devotees in large numbers thronged Buguloni Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Regonda where the annual jatara is underway.

Priests performed Kalyana Mahotsvam, which was witnessed by hundreds of devotees.
