Kavi Sammelanam tomorrow in Bhavanipuram

Vijayawada: Joint Collector Dr Krithika Sukla on Friday directed the officials to make arrangements for the Poets meet (Kavi Sammelanam) at Berm Park, Bhavanipuram which will be held on March 17.

She said that the district administration was planning for a poets meet on March 17 as a part of Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).

Ms Sukla said every voter should utilise their vote ethically to build an ethical society. Krishna District Writers Association, the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati, and the district administration are going to organise Kavi Sammelanam.

As many as 32 poets will render their poems in different languages. Chief Electoral Officer Gopala Krishna Dwivedi, District Electoral Officer Md Imtiaz, Commissioner of Police Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, VMC Commissioner Rama Rao and others will participate in the programme.

She said that the district administration is one step ahead of other districts and conducted several competitions to create awareness like Rangoli, Essay-writing, Elocution, Kala Jata, Kites, Ballons campaign and others.
