KGGH sanctions 28.50 lakh for cochlear transplant surgery equipment

Kakinada: A meeting was organised under the aegis of the Hospital Development committee (HDC) at the Kakinada Government General Hospital [KGGH] on Thursday evening at the collectorate presided over by the District Collector Karthikeya Mishra. Several issues related to hospital development were taken up for discussion. The HDC sanctioned Rs 28.50 lakh for provision of latest equipment for the hospital for conducting Cochlear transplant surgery for deaf and dumb children.

The committee also discussed the possibilities of purchase of new ambulances for utilization during VIP visits to the district. As funds wre adequate to cater to these needs, it was decided to opt for hiring the vehicles. The HDC also decided to wait for CSR funds which were expected to be released this year for the hospital, to cater to the needs of new ambulance needs.

It also decided to take the assistance of voluntary organizations to take care of those who remain in hospital despite regain of health as the patients don't get support after the discharge. KGGH superintendent Dr M Raghavendra Rao, Rangaraya Medical college principal Dr R Mahalakshmi and others were present on the occasion.
