Lakshmana Rao wins with 68,120 margin
Guntur: Krishna-Guntur districts Graduates MLC constituency candidate supported by Progressive Democratic Front K S Lakshamana Rao was elected to the Legislative Council with a majority of 68,120 votes at the end of the 12th round of counting. His rival Nuthalapati Anajaiah received 12,550 votes. He was elected to the Council from Krishna-Guntur districts teachers constituency for two times earlier now got elected from Graduates constituency third time.
Lakshamana Rao received 80,670 votes out of 1,49,319 votes polled. As many as 40 candidates contested in the Graduates MLC election. District collector and Krishna-Guntur districts Graduates constituency returning officer Kona Sasidhar gave declaration to LakshmanaRao on Thursday at his chamber in the collectorate and congratulated him. Speaking on this occasion, Lakshamana Rao said that he would raise problems of the people in the Council and try to solve them.
