Local Body elections: No tickets to family members of MPs, MLAs in YSRCP

The YSRCP government headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken a crucial decision on the election of local bodies. The YSRCP president has ordered the party MLAs and constituency coordinators not to field their relatives in the local body elections. The Regional Coordinators have been instructed not to give B forms to anyone who are the relatives of MLA's.

The process of filing nominations for MPTC and ZPTCs would be coming to an end today. Nominations will be accepted until 5 pm on Wednesday while elections will be held for 660 ZPTCs and 9,984 MPTC seats will be held.

The final list will be announced on the 14th of this month after the scrutiny and the election will be held on the March 21st while the results will be announced on March 24. Nominations for Municipal election, on the other hand, have begun today. Nominations will be accepted from 11 am to 3 pm. The nominations process will continue till 13th of this month. The polls will be held on March 23 and the results will be announced on the 27th.

On the other hand, there is turmoil situation in some parts of the districts where the GDP and YSRCP have resorted to a physical attack on each other over the filing of nominations. In this backdrop, the TDP leaders Bonda Uma and Buddha Venkanna have been attacked and sustained injuries. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu slammed at YSRCP over the attacks.
