Lockdown implemented in Tirupati with difficulty

Tirupati: Lockdown was strictly implemented by the police and civic body authorities in Tirupati for the second day on Tuesday. After 9am they closed all the roads by barricades and stopped the vehicles movement. Almost all the regular activities of the city residents was paralysed. Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and Commissioner PS Girisha reviewed the situation. As was requested by MLA, all the commercial malls and shops and super markets were kept closed voluntarily.

People were seen standing in queues at markets to purchase essential commodities and vegetables before 9 am. After that police forcefully dispersed the people from the markets and shops. Then onwards, all the roads wore deserted look. At many areas people have tried to come out side on bikes to purchase items. But police have sent them back homes forcefully.

Municipal Corporation officials have distributed personal protection kits like antiviral infection suits, hand gloves and masks to rapid action teams. And also started spraying of disinfectant chemicals in high risk zones of the city.

In the mean while Tirupati Urban SP A Ramesh Reddy conducted wireless set conference with all the DSPs of the district and instructed them to implement lockdown strictly in their respective subdivisions as per state government special orders.
