Minister assures water supply to farmlands in Nellore
Nellore: Minister for Water Resources Dr P Anil Kumar said that Somasila Reservoir is now witnessing unprecedented water storage level that the district hadn't seen for the last 30 years.
He addressed the officials at the Irrigation Guesthouse in the city on Saturday and said the situation occurred only due to a good omen of Jagan Mohan Reddy assuming office as the Chief Minister.
He also said major water bodies across the State were filled to the brim due to sufficient rainfall activity and assured that they would provide water for irrigation purposes for all agriculture lands. Local areas would get recharged with the release of water in River Penna.
Earlier, the Minister handed over appointment letters on Saturday to the candidates at the Municipal Corporation selected for the ward secretaries. He also said assurances made by the YSRCP during the election campaign have been prepared as a manifesto and now are being realised for the welfare of the people as soon as coming to power.
He said providing employment to around 1.3 lakh jobless is a record in the history of the State and the people who failed to get the opportunity can try in the next recruitment drive which would be announced during January 2020. Nellore Rural MLA K Sridhar Reddy, Corporation Commissioner PVVS Murthy, Additional Commissioner Gopi and others were present.
