Minister denies irregularities in recruitment of Sachivalayam posts
Nellore: Minister for Water Resources Dr P Anil Kumar Yadav said that the Telugu Desam leaders have been making unnecessary comments on the recruitment process for filling up of Sachivalayam (village secretariat) posts. He stated that there were no irregularities as they had conducted the examinations and evaluation in a transparent manner.
He also instructed the officials to complete irrigation projects in the district as soon as possible. The Minister reviewed with the officials of irrigation and the Telugu Ganga project at Pinakini Guest House in the city on Thursday and said that the officials have to release water and create awareness among farmers on proper utilisation.
Anil Kumar suggested to the officials to create awareness among farmers on cultivation of pulses and others rather than paddy. He also informed that they will convene Irrigation Advisory Board meet shortly with the legislators to discuss allocation of water from major water bodies.
Superintending Engineer of the Somasila project Nagul Meera said that the reservoir has been receiving 11,644 cusecs of water and releasing 6,228 cusecs of water from the project. He explained that they have already been releasing 4,410 cusecs of water to Kandaleru reservoir. Current storage level of the project is 66.768 tmc feet.
Telugu Ganga project SE Harinarayana informed that they had released 1,000 cusecs of water from Kandaleru dam to Chennai on Wednesday and 1,500 cusecs on Thursday. Later, the Minister visited the 48th division in the city and inspected sanitation conditions. Local leaders were present.
