Minister stresses on CSR for companies in Kakinada

Kakinada: Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kanna Babu said that corporate companies should work for improving health, education and social development of people in their operational areas.

He handed over furniture to ZP High School, Vakalapudi near Kakinada, contributed by Coromandel International under CSR on Friday. He said that it is the responsibility of these companies to take up development of the public in their respective areas. He lauded the services of Coromandel Fertilizers for their efforts under Corporate Social Responsibility.

The minister suggested the companies to take up fishermen community development in the coastal region and to establish a skill development center for this purpose at Kakinada. He also urged them to encourage small traders by providing marketing facilities to their products.

The minister launched the program of Ananda Vedika meant for cultural development of school children covering 10 schools. He handed over furniture to school and inaugurated the medical camp organized on the occasion.

Coromandel Fertilizers vice-president Amir Alvi said that the company was concentrating on education, health and social development under CSR and as part of it furniture to schools was being distributed. Social Welfare DD MS Sobha Rani, Information Deputy Director M Francis and others participated on the event.
