Nellore civic body plans to utilise vacant sites

Nellore: Municipal Commissioner PVVS Murthy informed that the civic body is contemplating to utilise the vacant sites in the city for constructing buildings for general public and for other development activities.

The Commissioner along with town planning officials toured several wards in the city on Sunday to observe the water supply and verified overhead tanks. Speaking to media, the Commissioner said that they had identified some vacant plots in the city and added the civic body was planning to develop parks and some structures at the identified vacant plots to facilitate recreation and other amenities to public.

He stated the civic body would also take stringent measures to curb the encroachments. He warned that the civic body would take strict action against those who occupy the property.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner inspected the overhead tanks in Bujabuja Nellore and mini bypass road areas and instructed the officials to maintain hygienic conditions in the overhead tanks.

He informed that the civic body would renovate the tanks which are in dilapidated condition. Deputy Country Planner Prasad and other officials were present.
